An over 60 year San Francisco Branch tradition!
The Asilomar Weekend Workshop is a magical weekend held annually at the Asilomar Conference Grounds , a national Historic Landmark on the spectacular Monterey Peninsula, California. Held in either October or November, the Asilomar Weekend starts with an informal welcome dance and ceilidh on Friday night, followed by classes on Saturday and a formal ball in the historic Julia Morgan designed Merrill Hall on Saturday evening. Walking on the adjacent Asilomar beach is a popular "Rest and Be Ready" Saturday afternoon activity. The weekend finishes with a combined class on Sunday morning.
Whether you are a dancer with one year of dance experience or you're a non-dancer, we encourage you to attend and experience the charm of Asilomar and Scottish Country dancing.
Accepting applications after April 15, 2023

Many RSCDS-SF members were introduced to Scottish Country Dancing at a Clan Gathering or Highland Games. These festive events are held throughout the world and throughout the Bay Area. They are fun for the whole family and often include demonstrations of Scottish dancing. Bay Area events include the San Francisco Free Folk Festival and Campbell Highland Games in June, the Oakland Scottish Games at Dunsmuir House and Gardens in July, the Monterey Scottish Games in August, and the San Francisco Caledonian Club Highland Games in September (Labor Day weekend) at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton.
